Warning: Scriptures read in isolation from the rest of Scripture can lead to serious misinterpretation. After reading the following Scriptures, it is vital that you read the whole webpage, to view these verses in the context of the rest of Scripture.
Mark 3:28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of
men will be forgiven them. (29) But whoever blasphemes against the
Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal
sin.
Luke 12:10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man
will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit
will not be forgiven.
Hebrews 6:4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened,
who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy
Spirit, (5) who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and
the powers of the coming age, (6) if they fall away, to be brought
back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying
the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
(7) Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that
produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives
the blessing of God. (8) But land that produces thorns and thistles
is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will
be burned.
Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have
received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is
left, (27) but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging
fire that will consume the enemies of God. (28) Anyone who rejected
the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or
three witnesses. (29) How much more severely do you think a man
deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under
foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant
that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does
not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life.
I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a
sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about
that.
2 Peter 2:20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world
by knowing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and are again entangled
in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were
at the beginning. (21) It would have been better for them not
to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it
and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed
on to them.
Matthew 12:31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will
be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not
be forgiven. (32) Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of
Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit
will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
